Fact-Free News
Today in the Washington Post, Harold Meyerson revealed the facts: "the fair and balanced folks at Fox [News], the survey concludes, were the 'news source whose viewers had the most misperceptions.'" In other words, eighty percent of viewers who watch Fox News believed one of the following un-facts: (1) close working relationship between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda, (2) we have found the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, (3) most people in other countries backed the war in Iraq.
Clearly, the major news media are delivering mis-information that is mis-informing the mis-guided electorate into forming their mistaken opinions.
The US DAT is unveiling the Media Deconstruction Kit for the purpose of "neutralizing" the mis-information of the news media by rendering it as pure aesthetics and mixing in our own forms of propaganda.
The MDK debut takes place Saturday, October 25, 9:00 pm, hosted by the Digital Media Center of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. For more information (facts only, please!).
