State of the Union [The Fateful Embrace]
How gently and quietly he smiles
How tenderly he opens his eyes
Do you see it, friends?
Don't you see?
How he shines ever more brightly
Encircled by stars
Lifting him up
Don't you see it?
How his heart boldly swells
Full and glorious
It surges in his breast
How softly and gently from his lips
His sweet breath flows
Look, my friends
Can't you feel it and see it?
Do I alone hear this melody
So wonderful and tender?
Delightfully lamenting
All revealing
Gently pardoning
Sounding from him
It flows through me
And rises up
Beautifully resounding
Echoing around me
Ringing ever more clearly
Surging all around me
Are they waves of gentle breezes
Are they drafts of sweet fragrance
As they surge and wash around me
Shall I breath them?
Shall I listen to them?
Shall I sip them?
Or dive beneath them
And disappear in their sweet scents?
In the surging swell
In the ringing sound
In the world's great breath
In the flowing all
To drown
To sink
Unconscious
Highest bliss
